Handpainted Pitcher

Oil on canvas board - 14 x 16"
Framed size - 20 x 22"
Susan Webb Bonnell $450

My grandmother handpainted this china pitcher many years ago. I've always thought it was beautiful and I wanted to capture its graceful lines.

Hearts

Pastel - 12 x 14"
William McEldowney Bonnell

You can probably guess what this pastel is about. It was a Valentine's gift to Susan on our first Valentine's together in 2003.

Lavender Fields

Oil on Canvas Board - 5 x 7" NFS
William McEldowney Bonnell

The hills and valleys surrounding Collioure are covered with lavender with its wonderful purple blue color and amazing fragrance. I painted this in Collioure in 2002.

Plum Wine

Oil on Canvas - 8 x 10" SOLD
Susan Webb Bonnell

I arranged the glass of wine and plums on a table in the morning sunshine in our apartment in Collioure, France--a magical village where Matisse and others came to paint and experience the incredible light and colors of the Mediterranean. I sketched the wine and plums in Collioure in 2005 but just finished the painting last month.

Just Lemons

Oil on Canvas - 9 x 12" SOLD
Susan Webb Bonnell

Just Lemons started as a practice work and ended as a more serious effort. It was the start of my trying to paint more often and more freely. Not long after I finished it a fellow visiting our studio saw the painting and wanted to take it home with him. Lemons was work, but fun, and it's good to know that it rests in a comfortable, welcome place.

Roses

Oil on Canvas Board - 14 x 18" NFS
Susan Webb Bonnell

Roses is a painting that I planned to come back and "finish." But after living with it for a while, I came to it enjoy its free feeling and decided to stop. I'm really glad. It's still one of my favorites.
